I would say that's very interesting. Taking the artistic qualities inherent in yoyo to a new and dynamic level! Wow, the wonders of technology. I'm 15, a product of the Technological Revolution, and I'm still amazed! What will they think of next?

I don't know, but «they» are probably looking for something more usefull than a IR light up yoyo.
This idea is based on the Smoothboard application (a super cheap way to build an interactive whiteboard with a wiimote hack). I simply modded the yoyo lightkit for sale at yoyoguy's with an infrared led instead of the colored one. The yoyo replaces the IR pen. A serious modder could easily make a better yoyo by centering the led and cramming in more batteries. It could be easy to also enlarge the screen but the projector rig I'm using is fixed. /geek laugther. |

not useless: that's awesome! have you though about doing a write-up on a blog or something? i read hack-a-day and stuff everyday and it would be cool to see this on one of those sites. it's not earth shattering or anything, but there are probably some pretty cool applications for this.
